Released WWE Superstars Rekindle Fan Hopes Amidst Show of Camaraderie

WWE has seen numerous superstars throughout its history who dominated the ring with their incredible performances and captivated the hearts of fans. However, due to various factors such as business strategies, creative changes, or budget cuts, WWE has had to release several big names.

Sports News: The world of WWE, while appearing glamorous and powerful, is also incredibly dynamic. Superstars who are stars one day can be out of the ring the next. Yet, some names become etched in the fans' hearts, and the hope for their return never fades. The burgeoning friendships and social media activity of several recently released WWE veterans have rekindled such hopes.

Tegan Nox's Account of a Friendship Beyond Wrestling

Tegan Nox, whose real name is Nixon Newell, recently shared personal insights on the "Busted Open Radio" show. She revealed that her friendship with Shayna Baszler and Dakota Kai has strengthened even after their WWE releases. Tegan stated, "I often meet Shayna. We sit together, drink whiskey, talk, and reminisce about wrestling. I'm also in constant contact with Dakota Kai. Her release from WWE was incredibly shocking, as she's an unparalleled talent."

Tegan was released in November 2024, while Baszler and Kai were let go in May 2025. However, fans remain hopeful that these three superstars will return to the WWE ring, especially given WWE's recent trend of bringing back former superstars.

An Emotional Reunion of ECW Legends

The stories of friendship among released wrestlers aren't limited to the current generation. A recent reunion between Mick Foley and Mikey Whipwreck, two legends of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), brought back fond memories for wrestling fans. They met at a signing event in New York and shared a photo on social media, which went viral. Mick Foley recounted how he trained Mikey in ECW when he was part of the ring crew.

They later won the ECW Tag Team Championship together. "He's not just a partner to me, he's like a brother. Our friendship extends far beyond the ring," said Mick Foley.

Will These Superstars Return? Fans' Hopes Rekindled

The camaraderie among these wrestlers and the ensuing social media buzz have reignited hopes among WWE fans. Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai's tag team, in particular, was hugely popular in NXT and on the main roster. Shayna Baszler's fighting style and powerful image have consistently strengthened the WWE Women's division. WWE may give these wrestlers another chance, especially as they strive to bolster new angles and storylines.
