In Jehanabad, RJD MLA Suday Yadav is facing opposition from party workers and Mahagathbandhan supporters. The workers are demanding that Lalu and Tejashwi deny him a ticket in the upcoming elections. Allegations include negligence in development works and misuse of development funds.
Jehanabad: As the Bihar Assembly elections draw closer, political activity is intensifying. In this context, the RJD may face a major setback in its bhold of Jehanabad. Local MLA Suday Yadav has been confronted by party workers and Mahagathbandhan supporters. The workers have demanded that Lalu Prasad Yadav and Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav deny Suday Yadav a ticket in the upcoming elections and field a qualified and b candidate.
On Sunday, a crucial meeting of Mahagathbandhan supporters was held in a private hall in Shakurabad, Ratni Faridpur block. A large number of RJD workers, Panchayat representatives, local leaders, and the general public attended the meeting. During the meeting, slogans such as "Remove Suday, Save Jehanabad" were raised against MLA Suday Yadav.
Allegations against the MLA of Lack of Development Work and Misuse of Funds
Local leaders and workers alleged that despite being an MLA for two terms, Suday Yadav has not been able to carry out any concrete development work in the area. The Murhara Path, a crucial 20-kilometer-long road connecting Gaya, Jehanabad, and Arwal districts, is in a dilapidated condition and no improvements have been made to it so far.
Sadhu Yadav, Meera Yadav, and Sanjay Rai, among other workers, also claimed that the development funds of approximately ₹32 crore allocated to the MLA have been misused. Every Panchayat should have received an average of ₹70-75 lakh, but this entire fund was allegedly distributed among his favorites. The workers say that this opposition is not just against the party or leaders, but is due to public resentment.
Workers' Demand and Appeal to Change the Ticket
The workers present at the meeting clarified that this opposition is due to the sentiments of the public. They demanded that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav give a ticket to a qualified and b candidate in place of Suday Yadav in the upcoming elections.
Party supporters believe that if the leadership resolves the situation in time and gives a ticket to an honest leader, the Jehanabad seat is certain to be won by the RJD with a huge margin. On the other hand, if internal rebellion is ignored, it could negatively affect the electoral prospects of the Mahagathbandhan.
Threat to RJD in Elections due to Rebellion in Jehanabad
RJD supporters say that Jehanabad has long been a traditional bhold of the RJD. Such internal rebellion just before the elections could prove detrimental to the party. The workers believe that the party can ensure a safe victory here only by fielding the right candidate.
This is a very important time for the party leadership. If the situation is not handled in time, internal differences and public resentment could affect the election strategy.
