How the Accident Happened
According to available information, the auto-rickshaw was traveling from Sasaram towards Bikramganj. At that moment, a speeding Scorpio coming from the opposite direction hit the auto-rickshaw forcefully. The impact was so severe that the auto-rickshaw was completely wrecked.
According to local residents, the accident occurred around 11 PM. Eyewitnesses to the accident stated that the Scorpio was traveling at an excessively high speed, and the driver lost control of the vehicle. This accident has reignited the debate on road accidents and speed control in the region.
Identification of the Deceased
The three individuals who lost their lives in this tragic accident have been identified. The two deceased auto-rickshaw passengers are Srikant Prasad and Kishore Paswan, residents of Karmani Khurd village in Bikramganj. The third deceased was identified as Ashish Kumar, son of the late Lalan Prasad, a resident of Nokha.
A wave of grief has swept through the families and villagers. Local residents and family members are in deep shock due to the accident. According to the police, the bodies will be handed over to their families after the post-mortem.
Scorpio Occupants Fled
Immediately after the accident, all occupants of the Scorpio abandoned the vehicle and fled. However, local residents caught one young man and severely beat him.
Police, who arrived at the scene, brought the situation under control, rescued the young man from the crowd, and took him to the police station. Both vehicles have been impounded by the police. The police are now investigating to identify and arrest all suspects.
