Russia Plane Crash: A severe plane crash near the Russia-China border has claimed the lives of 48 people. The Angara Airlines AN-24 aircraft was en route from Blagoveshchensk to Tynda when it crashed in the Amur region. All passengers and crew members on board the plane died. The crash has been confirmed by the Russian state news agency TASS.

Poor Visibility and Technical Error Suspected as Cause of Crash

Preliminary investigations suggest that the crash may have been caused by an error on the part of the pilot during landing due to adverse weather conditions and low visibility. Contact with the aircraft was lost 16 kilometers before the city of Tynda, and its wreckage was found in a mountainous area. The plane did not send an SOS signal before disappearing from radar.

PM Modi Expresses Grief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the horrific plane crash in Russia, conveying his sorrow through a post on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote that India stands in solidarity with Russia and its people during this difficult time. PM Modi extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved families.

Russian Government Orders Investigation

Russia's emergency services reported that, according to the information available so far, there is no chance of anyone surviving the accident. An investigation has been launched under Article 263 of the Criminal Code, examining violations of air traffic safety rules.

Dense Forest and Marshy Terrain Hinder Relief Efforts

The area around Tynda is surrounded by taiga forest and marshy land, which is causing considerable difficulty in relief and rescue operations. Hundreds of military personnel, police officers, and emergency services have been deployed in the search operation. Given the circumstances, the local administration has prioritized the search operation.

Discrepancies Regarding the Number of Passengers on the Plane

There have been discrepancies in the number of passengers reported by officials and the governor. Some reports stated that there were 40 passengers (including two children) and six crew members on board the plane, while other reports mentioned 43 passengers (including five children).

Due to severe weather conditions, schools have been closed in Manila, including the capital, Moscow. Classes have been suspended in 35 districts of the Amur and Luzon regions. The administration has advised people to avoid unnecessary travel.
