Samajwadi Party leader Pawan Pandey has alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Ayodhya, claiming that multiple votes have been created under the same name. He stated that in some instances, three votes were registered under a single individual’s name and described the situation as a violation of democratic norms.

Allegations of Multiple Entries in Voter List

Addressing a press conference, Pandey said that several irregularities had emerged during the SIR process. He claimed that the same individual’s name was recorded at different polling booths. According to him, the alleged discrepancies were carried out in a planned manner to secure electoral advantage.

Pandey stated that if such discrepancies exist in the voter list, the conduct of free and fair elections cannot be ensured. He demanded an impartial inquiry into the matter and strict action against those found responsible.

The Bharatiya Janata Party rejected the allegations as baseless. Party leaders said that the SIR is a routine process conducted with the participation of representatives from all political parties. They stated that if any errors are identified, they can be corrected under the prescribed procedure.

Administrative Position and Process Details

The SIR process includes updating the voter list, adding new names, and removing the names of deceased or relocated voters. Local administration officials stated that if any voter identifies discrepancies in the list, a complaint can be filed through the designated procedure. Authorities said that all objections would be examined and necessary corrections made.
