Samastipur MP Shambhavi Choudhary danced on stage with her father and Bihar government minister Ashok Choudhary during a Dahi Handi event held in Patna on the occasion of Janmashtami.
Shambhavi Choudhary was seated on the stage during the event when a Govinda team broke the Dahi Handi. As the crowd's enthusiasm grew, she began dancing on the stage. Her father, Ashok Choudhary, also joined her, and the two danced together for some time.
People attending the event applauded and encouraged the MP. Songs and drums were being played after the pot was broken, while Shambhavi Choudhary participated in the celebrations.
Shambhavi's husband, Sayan Kunal, was also present at the event. He was seen smiling as he watched Shambhavi and her father dance on stage. The moment was captured on camera, and a video of it has surfaced on social media.
A large number of people gathered in Patna for the Dahi Handi programme held on Janmashtami. Govinda groups formed human pyramids to break a pot suspended at a height. After the pot was broken, people raised slogans and celebrations began amid music and drumbeats. Shambhavi Choudhary also became part of the celebrations during the event.
Shambhavi Choudhary is the MP from the Samastipur Lok Sabha seat. She contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election on a Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) ticket and won. She was among the youngest MPs of the 18th Lok Sabha.
Shambhavi comes from a political family. Her father, Ashok Choudhary, is a senior figure in Bihar politics. He is a Janata Dal United leader and has served as a minister in the Bihar government. Her grandfather, Mahavir Choudhary, also served as a minister in the Bihar government. Her family has therefore been associated with politics for a long time.
Shambhavi is married to Sayan Kunal, the son of former IPS officer and social worker Acharya Kishore Kunal. Shambhavi has publicly stated on several occasions that her husband also supports her political journey.
The Dahi Handi video showed Shambhavi Choudhary in a setting different from her political programmes. After the pot was broken, she danced with her father, Ashok Choudhary, while people around them recorded the moment on their mobile phones.
The Dahi Handi programme combined religious and cultural celebrations. Youth groups participated in the event held to mark the birth of Lord Krishna, with people raising slogans and celebrating to the beat of drums. Shambhavi Choudhary's dance was among the moments recorded during the programme.
