Maharashtra politics is once again witnessing a surge in activity. The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) has made serious allegations against the state's ruling Mahayuti government, demanding the resignation of some ministers. The Thackeray faction has already submitted a memorandum to the Governor in this regard and is now preparing to meet President Droupadi Murmu.
Leader of the Opposition, Ambadas Danve, has informed that leaders of the Thackeray faction will meet the President and present their grievances against the government. The delegation may include MLAs from the Thackeray faction, some MPs from Delhi, and other prominent leaders.
Memorandum Already Submitted to the Governor
Recently, leaders of the Thackeray faction met the Governor and demanded action against some ministers in the Fadnavis government. They allege that these ministers are violating the decorum of the Constitution and that there is sufficient evidence against them. Additionally, citing their objectionable statements, the party demanded the resignation of these ministers.
The memorandum also prominently includes the issues raised by the MLAs of the Mahayuti alliance. Shiv Sena (UBT) is now awaiting the Governor's response. If no action is taken at the state level, the party will make it a national issue and demand intervention from the Center.
Expectation of Presidential Intervention
The Thackeray faction has formally requested time to meet with the President and it is expected that this meeting may take place next week. The party says that some ministers in the government are ignoring public interest issues and their conduct is damaging democratic values.
Through this meeting, Shiv Sena (UBT) will apprise the President of the political and administrative irregularities occurring in the state and seek her intervention. This step is considered an important part of the Thackeray faction's strategy, which is aimed at putting pressure on the government.
