The revised voter list released after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has recorded a decline in the number of voters across all six assembly constituencies in Nainital district. Compared with 2022, the number of voters has decreased in every constituency. In Haldwani and Nainital, the decline in the number of voters is higher than the victory margins recorded by the winning candidates in the previous assembly election.
Nainital district has six assembly constituencies. In the 2022 assembly election, Congress candidate Sumit Hridayesh won the Haldwani seat, while BJP candidates won five constituencies in the district.
Diwan Singh Bisht won from Ramnagar, Ram Singh Kaida from Bhimtal, Sarita Arya from Nainital, Dr. Mohan Singh Bisht from Lalkuan and Banshidhar Bhagat from Kaladhungi. Following the SIR process, the revised voter list has recorded a decline in the number of voters in all six constituencies.
The Haldwani assembly constituency has 31,300 fewer voters after the SIR. In 2022, Congress candidate Sumit Hridayesh won the election by a margin of 7,814 votes. The decline in the number of voters in the constituency is therefore about four times the previous victory margin.
In the Nainital assembly constituency, 17,612 fewer names have been recorded compared with the previous election. In 2022, BJP's Sarita Arya won by a margin of 7,881 votes. The number of voters reduced after the SIR is therefore more than twice the previous victory margin.

The Lalkuan assembly constituency has recorded a decline of 12,967 names after the voter-list revision. The victory margin there in 2022 was 17,527 votes.
In Bhimtal, the victory margin in 2022 was 9,844 votes, while 3,920 voters have been removed from the list after the SIR.
In Kaladhungi, 7,775 voters have been reduced compared with the 2022 victory margin of 23,931 votes.
In Ramnagar, the victory margin in 2022 was 4,745 votes, while 10,291 voters have been reduced after the SIR. The decline in the number of voters in Ramnagar is therefore higher than the previous victory margin.
Eligible voters whose names have been left out of the voter list after the SIR will have to submit Form 6 to have their names added again. Eligible applicants will be included in the voter list after completion of the verification process.
