Janaki Mandir: A magnificent Janaki Temple is set to be built in Punauradham, located in the Sitamarhi district of Bihar. On Saturday, Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of this temple, offering prayers and initiating the construction work. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was also present on this occasion. Thousands of devotees gathered at the event. The entire area was immersed in a religious atmosphere.
Temple Construction at the Birthplace of Maa Janaki
According to mythological beliefs, Punauradham is considered the birthplace of Maa Sita. It is believed that Maa Sita was born here, hence the area is also known as "Sita Janmabhoomi" (Sita's birthplace). Previously, there was a small temple at this location, but it will now be expanded and developed into a grand temple.
Construction on 67 Acres, 11-Month Timeline
The new temple will be constructed on 67 acres of land. An 11-month deadline has been set for the temple's construction. This project is considered significant for Bihar from a religious, cultural, and tourism perspective. Its aim is not only to create a religious site but also to place Sitamarhi on the national and international religious tourism map.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, a beautiful glimpse of Mithila's traditional culture was also seen. A large number of local women arrived in traditional Maithili attire and expressed their devotion through folk songs. The songs narrated the stories of Maa Sita's birth and her life, which moved those present.

After the groundbreaking ceremony, Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the gathering, stating that this temple will become a center of faith not only for Bihar but for the entire country. He said that the central government is committed to preserving religious and cultural heritage. Shah also added that along with the temple, the entire region will be developed, which will also create employment opportunities for the local people.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while participating in the event, described the construction of the temple as a matter of pride for the state.
