What is the Matter?
Ernakulam North Police have registered a case against Lakshmi Menon and her three associates. It is alleged that the actress and her companions kidnapped an IT employee and assaulted him. The victim, a resident of Aluva (Kerala), stated in his police complaint that he had gone to a restaurbar in Kochi with his friends. There, he met Lakshmi Menon's friends, and a verbal altercation ensued between the two parties over some issue. He left the place with his friends before the dispute escalated.
However, it is alleged that shortly after, he was kidnapped and also assaulted. Following this incident, the victim lodged a complaint with the police, based on which the police registered a case against the actress and three others.
Interim Relief from the Court
To avoid arrest in this matter, Lakshmi Menon approached the High Court seeking anticipatory bail. During the hearing, the court acknowledged that the Onam holidays had commenced and therefore, a detailed hearing would not be possible. For this reason, the court has stayed the actress's arrest until the Onam holidays.
The next hearing in this case will take place after the holidays, where it will be decided whether the actress will be granted anticipatory bail or not.
