Big news has emerged from the world of cricket. As part of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle, the South African team will tour Pakistan after a four-year gap. This tour will feature Test, T20, and ODI series.
South Africa tour of Pakistan: The Pakistan Cricket Board has made a significant announcement stating that the WTC champions, South Africa, will visit Pakistan in October-November. During this period, Test, T20I, and ODI series will be played between the two nations. This tour will mark the commencement of Pakistan's ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 campaign.
The South Africa tour of Pakistan will commence on October 12 with the Test series at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium. This will be the first five-day match at the stadium following its complete renovation for hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Subsequently, the second Test match will be held from October 20 to 24 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

- Test Series Returns After 4 Years
The South African team is returning for a Test tour of Pakistan after a four-year hiatus. The two teams last faced each other in 2021, where Pakistan secured a 2-0 victory in the Test series. The upcoming Test series will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27. The series will conclude with two Test matches to be played in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Following the Test series, a three-match T20 series will commence on October 28. The first match will be held in Rawalpindi, while the second and third encounters will take place in Lahore. The T20 series will serve as an important preparation opportunity for players from both Pakistan and South Africa. Notably, an ODI match will be played at Faisalabad's Iqbal Stadium after a 17-year interval. The last ODI was played on April 11, 2008, where Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets. This time, a three-match ODI series will be held in Faisalabad starting from November 4.
