Southern Railway Apprenticeship 2025: Southern Railway has commenced the application process for Apprentice positions in its various departments. A total of 3538 positions will be filled under this recruitment drive. Interested candidates can apply directly by visiting the Southern Railway Official Website. Who Can Apply? Eligibility Criteria
The minimum qualifications for this recruitment are determined according to different categories.
- Fresher Category: Candidates must be between 15 and 22 years of age. A minimum of 50% marks in Matriculation is required.
- Ex-ITI Category: Age must be between 15 and 24 years. The candidate must have completed ITI and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Matriculation.
- MLT Category: Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology in Higher Secondary. A minimum of 50% marks in Matriculation is required.
The age of the candidates will be calculated based on January 1, 2026. Candidates from reserved categories may receive age relaxation as per government norms.
Selection Process: Based on Merit
The selection for the Southern Railway Apprentice recruitment will be based on a merit list. The process of preparing the merit list is as follows.
- Fresher: The marks obtained in Matriculation will be converted to 200 marks to prepare the merit list.
- Ex-ITI: The marks obtained in Matriculation will be converted to 100 marks and the ITI marks will be converted to 100 marks, making a total evaluation of 200 marks. Both will be given equal importance.
- MLT: The marks obtained in Higher Secondary will be converted to 200 marks. A minimum of 50% marks in Matriculation is mandatory.
Based on the merit list, eligible candidates may be called for an interview or written examination. Subsequently, selected candidates will be appointed for training.

- Scheduled Caste/Tribe, Persons with Disabilities, and Women Candidates: No application fee.
- Other Candidates: Application fee ₹100.
- The application fee will only be accepted through online payment.
