New Delhi: The poisonous Coldrif Cough Syrup produced by Tamil Nadu-based pharmaceutical company Srusen Pharma (Srusen Pharma) has shaken the nation. At least 20 children have died in Madhya Pradesh after consuming this syrup. The incident has created an atmosphere of anger and grief among the public. Now, the company owner S. Ranganathan (S. Ranganathan) has been arrested by Madhya Pradesh Police in Chennai.
Poisonous Syrup Caused Deaths
The case first emerged in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district when several children suddenly fell ill. Investigations revealed that all of them had consumed Coldrif Cough Syrup. Laboratory tests (lab test) confirmed that the syrup was adulterated (contamination). This adulteration proved fatal (fatal) for the children.
Health department officials stated that chemical elements (chemicals) were found in the syrup that are extremely dangerous for the human body, especially for young children. Chhindwara SP Ajay Pandey informed that S. Ranganathan, owner of Srusen Pharma, was arrested on Thursday night. The arrest took place in Chennai (Tamil Nadu), and he is now being brought to Madhya Pradesh on transit remand. Police also raided the company's main office in Chennai, where several documents, formulation records, and samples were seized.
According to officials, quality standards (Quality Standards) were completely ignored in this case. Preliminary investigations revealed that the company had used substandard raw materials (substandard raw materials) in the production of the syrup.
Joint Investigation by Police and Health Department
Following Ranganathan's arrest, both the police and health department have intensified their investigation. The investigative team is now trying to ascertain where and how the adulteration occurred.
