Companies like Apple, Google, Nvidia, Amazon, and Tesla, across the US, India, Europe, and globally, have spent crores of rupees on the security of their leaders. The increasing security is attributed to the high-profile responsibilities of the CEOs and their travel around the world, which increases the risk.

Billions Spent on CEO Security

Companies in the tech industry spend heavily on the security of their CEOs, with Meta leading the way. According to reports, in 2024, Meta alone spent $27 million (approximately ₹270 crore) on Mark Zuckerberg's security. This amount is higher than the security budgets of the CEOs of Apple, Nvidia, Amazon, Microsoft, and Alphabet. According to experts, Zuckerberg's security expenses include the security of his person, home, and family.

Security Expenses of Other Companies

Nvidia spent ₹30.6 crore on the security of CEO Jensen Huang. Amazon allocated ₹9.6 crore for Andy Jassy and ₹14 crore for former CEO Jeff Bezos. Apple spent ₹12.2 crore on Tim Cook's security, while Google spent approximately ₹60 crore on Sundar Pichai. Tesla spent ₹4.3 crore on Elon Musk's security, but this is only a portion of his total security costs.

These figures make it clear that companies invest heavily in the security of high-profile CEOs, as they have to travel globally and face higher risks due to their high-profile jobs.

Reasons for Increasing Security Expenses in the Tech Industry

CEOs of tech companies have to constantly attend business meetings, events, and conferences around the world. That is why it is necessary to continuously invest in their security. According to reports, the 10 largest tech companies spent a total of $45 billion (approximately ₹3.9 lakh crore) on their CEOs' security last year.

Experts believe that due to increasing global activities and digital high-profile status, spending on the security of CEOs will continue to increase in the future.
