According to sources, he is scheduled to hold a press conference at his Patna residence at 5 PM, where he will provide details about this new political initiative. Just a few days ago, Tej Pratap Yadav was expelled from the party and ostracized from the family for six years by his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Tej Pratap Preparing for 2025 Assembly Elections
Bihar is scheduled to hold assembly elections in 2025. Tej Pratap Yadav is currently a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) and his role in active politics has been consistent. After his expulsion from the RJD, he hinted that he would remain active in politics in some form or another. Therefore, it is speculated that through the formation of a new party, he will try to prove his political existence in the upcoming assembly elections.
Why Was Tej Pratap Removed From the Party and Family?
The main reason for Tej Pratap Yadav's expulsion from the party and family is related to his personal life. Recently, he announced on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that he was in a relationship with Anushka Yadav.
What Does Lalu Yadav's Statement Say?
Lalu Prasad Yadav himself shared the information about Tej Pratap's expulsion on X. In his post, he wrote, "Neglecting moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice. The activities, public conduct, and irresponsible behavior of the eldest son are not in line with our family values and traditions. Therefore, due to the above circumstances, I am distancing him from the party and family."
Lalu Yadav further wrote that from now on, he will not have any role in the party or family. He is expelled from the party for 6 years. He is capable of looking after the good, bad and merit of his personal life. Those who associate with him should take decisions at their own discretion.
Tej Pratap's Political Journey
Tej Pratap Yadav contested the 2015 Bihar Assembly elections for the first time from the Mahua seat and won. After this, he was made the Health Minister in the Nitish Kumar-led government. However, he was often surrounded by controversies due to his working style and statements.
After this, in the 2020 assembly elections, he contested from the Hasanpur seat and won. Political analysts believe that Tej Pratap has a mass base, but questions have been raised about his leadership abilities and seriousness. This is the reason why he gradually became isolated within the party as well.
