This time, however, the reason is not a film or interview, but a brawl at a Hyderabad pub that has thrust her into the spotlight on social media. The actress is accused of misbehaving with the pub staff, using abusive language, and damaging property. The police have filed an FIR against Kalpika.
Birthday Turns into a Controversy
The incident occurred on May 29, 2025. Kalpika Ganesh was celebrating her birthday at a popular pub, 'Prism,' in Gachibowli, Telangana. During the celebration with her friends, she insisted on bringing a cake from outside into the pub, which is against the pub's policy. When the pub staff refused, the situation escalated.
A video of the entire incident is circulating on social media, showing Kalpika Ganesh arguing with the pub staff. Surprisingly, Kalpika herself posted this video on her Instagram account, portraying herself as the victim and describing the staff's behavior as "oppressive."
However, the video clearly shows Kalpika not only using abusive language but also damaging the pub's crockery and furniture.
Accusations of Body Shaming and Abuse
According to the pub staff's complaint, Kalpika Ganesh not only abused the staff but also body-shamed some of them. A staff member, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that she was very angry and repeatedly made derogatory remarks about their bodies and complexion. According to the FIR filed at Gachibowli police station, Kalpika has been charged under the following sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC):
- Section 324(4): Voluntarily causing hurt
- Section 351(2): Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty
- Section 352: Assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation
- The police, with court permission, have registered the case and are now seriously investigating the matter.
