Bahraich, December 26, 2025: A tiger attacked two villagers in the Chaneeni Gram Panchayat of Nawabganj area in the district on Thursday, leaving both seriously injured. The injured villagers have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to the injured, they were working in their field in the morning when the tiger suddenly attacked them. During the incident, people nearby rushed to help and safely evacuated the villagers.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a team from the Forest Department and the Police arrived at the scene. Forest Department teams are now increasing surveillance to drive the tiger back into the forest and prevent further attacks in the area.
Following the incident, an atmosphere of silence and fear prevails among the villagers. The Forest Department has advised villagers not to send children and the elderly out alone and to immediately report the presence of any wildlife. The Forest Department and Police are actively monitoring the area.
This incident once again highlights the problem of human-wildlife conflict, especially in areas where tiger and leopard attacks have been reported previously.
