United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is arriving in India on Monday on an invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will reach New Delhi to hold discussions on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UAE.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this is Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s third official visit to India and his fifth visit to the country in the past ten years.
During the visit, the two sides will hold talks on trade and investment, defence industry cooperation, energy initiatives, and technological partnership. The discussions will also cover ways to enhance strategic cooperation on global and regional issues.
India and the UAE are working closely on energy security and renewable energy projects, and the meetings are expected to explore possibilities for new agreements and investments in the energy sector.

The visit takes place amid ongoing challenges in West Asia, including a deterioration in Iran–United States relations, rising tensions between Saudi Arabia and the UAE over Yemen, and an unstable political situation in Gaza. Experts said the timing of the visit makes it significant, and regional developments may figure in discussions between the two leaders.
The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed between India and the UAE in 2022 has strengthened bilateral economic ties. Under the agreement, tariffs were reduced on thousands of products, boosting Indian exports of engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, and electronics. The UAE has also facilitated investments in India’s infrastructure, technology, and renewable energy sectors.
In 2025, non-oil trade between India and the UAE reached new levels. In the first half of the year alone, bilateral non-oil trade stood at approximately $37.6 billion, marking a 34% increase compared to the previous year. The growth supports the two countries’ objective of achieving $100 billion in non-oil trade by 2030.
