Accusations of inciting hatred within society have led to calls for the film to be banned.

What is 'Udaipur Files'?

The film 'Udaipur Files' is based on the Kanhaiya Lal tailor murder case that occurred on June 28, 2022. This incident in Udaipur shook the entire country when two extremists entered a shop and slit Kanhaiya Lal's throat, also they shared the video of this incident. This event caused outrage throughout the country, and this film has been made based on this incident. Veteran actor Vijay Raaz plays the lead role in the film, attempting to bring this serious subject to the screen. However, various organizations have expressed concerns about the film's content, stating it could damage communal harmony.

Abu Azmi raises the issue in the assembly

Abu Asim Azmi, the Samajwadi Party MLA in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, has expressed displeasure regarding 'Udaipur Files.' He stated that the film could incite hatred among people and affect the state's law and order. Speaking in the House, he said, "This film targets a particular community. It can create an atmosphere of hatred in the country. If this film is released, there could be serious consequences, so it should be banned immediately."

The filmmakers also stated that the film has been made in a sensitive and responsible manner and that there are no scenes or dialogues that could hurt anyone's feelings.

Issue takes on political colors
