Uddhav and Raj Thackeray Unite on Stage After Two Decades, Targeting BMC and Maharashtra Power

Uddhav and Raj Thackeray shared a stage after two decades. They united in opposition to the three-language policy. Uddhav announced intentions to capture BMC and power in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra: Saturday, July 5th, marked a historic day in Maharashtra politics as Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray appeared together on the same stage after nearly two decades. This spectacle not only became a topic of discussion in political circles but also sparked new hopes among supporters of Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). On this occasion, Uddhav Thackeray made it clear that he and Raj had come together with the intention of gaining power in Maharashtra.

We have come together to stay together - Uddhav Thackeray

Addressing the gathering, Uddhav Thackeray said, "We have come together to stay together." This statement was not only a declaration of the end of their old differences but also set the stage for a b political alliance for the upcoming elections.

This victory rally was organized under the banner 'Awaaz Marathicha' (Voice of Marathi). Its purpose was to celebrate the success of revoking the Maharashtra government's order to make Hindi compulsory as the third language in schools.

Opposition to the three-language formula increased unity

This movement against the three-language formula implemented by the Maharashtra government was fought in the name of Marathi identity. Raj Thackeray said on this occasion that this formula was a conspiracy to separate Mumbai from Maharashtra. He warned that any compromise with the Marathi language and culture would not be tolerated.

Raj Thackeray's satire: What even Balasaheb couldn't do

In his address, Raj Thackeray sarcastically remarked that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had accomplished something that even his uncle and Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray couldn't. He said, "Fadnavis brought me and Uddhav together on one stage." This comment, on the one hand, was a dig at the current government, and on the other hand, it also indicated that the Thackeray family could now reunite.

The government's decision changed due to the unity of Marathi people

Raj Thackeray clarified that the government had to withdraw its order because of the unity of the Marathi community. In the presence of Uddhav Thackeray on the stage, he said, "The power of our unity is such that the government had to bow down. It is now clear that there will be no compromise on the issue of Marathi identity and language in Maharashtra."

Eyes on the Mumbai Municipal Corporation and power in Maharashtra

Uddhav Thackeray further stated that he and Raj would now strategize to capture the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and power in Maharashtra. This is a clear indication that the two parties might form an alliance in the upcoming elections, which could completely change the existing equations in the state's politics.

Shiv Sena has held control over the BMC for a long time. However, in the past few years, the BJP has tried to make inroads. In such a scenario, if Uddhav and Raj contest elections together, a large portion of the Marathi vote bank could come with them.
