UP Minister Addresses Power Outages, Blames Technical Issues

There is growing public discontent in Uttar Pradesh due to frequent power outages. In response, the state government's Minister of Sports, Girish Chandra Yadav, has addressed the power crisis. During a visit to Mau on Tuesday, the minister stated that there is no shortage of electricity in the state, but rather, supply disruptions are due to certain technical issues, which will be resolved soon.

Technical Fault Responsible

In a conversation with reporters at the Collectorate premises, Minister Girish Chandra Yadav stated that the state government has an adequate supply of electricity available. He said that some areas are experiencing interruptions in supply due to local technical faults. Instructions have been issued to the concerned officials to rectify these faults as soon as possible and ensure smooth supply.

He cited the example of Mau district, saying that the power system here is now much better than before. The minister claimed that from 2012 to 2017, some districts—such as Mainpuri, Etawah, Firozabad, Badaun, and Rampur—were kept in the VIP category and given 24-hour electricity, while districts like Mau were neglected. But now, all regions in the state are being treated equally. He also said that immediate action is taken against officials who do not pay attention to public grievances.

Sharp Attack on SP Leaders

During the conversation, Minister Girish Chandra Yadav also bly targeted the Samajwadi Party and its leaders. He said that after losing power, Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav are making nonsensical statements out of frustration. He alleged that Akhilesh Yadav did not get power through the mandate of the people, but rather inherited it, and now the public has completely rejected him.

Regarding the questions being raised by the SP about EVMs, the minister said that when the Lok Sabha elections were held in 2014, Akhilesh himself was the Chief Minister and the administration was completely under his control. So, if there was any tampering with the EVMs, why didn't he raise his voice at that time?

The minister's statement clearly indicates that the government is making efforts to improve the power system, but at the same time, it is not missing any opportunity to target the opposition.
