Uttar Pradesh Offers Free Bus Service to Women During Raksha Bandhan, Benefiting Millions

The Uttar Pradesh government provided 66 hours of free bus service for women and one accompanying passenger during the Raksha Bandhan festival, benefiting 6.3 million women and 1.5 million accompanying passengers. Lucknow: A free transport service was provided for 66 hours in Uttar Pradesh during the Raksha Bandhan festival, benefiting 6.3 million women and 1.5 million accompanying passengers. This initiative was announced by the Minister of Transport (Independent Charge) of the state, Dayashankar Singh. The aim of the scheme was to promote women's respect, self-esteem, and security. Passengers were able to travel free of charge on Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) buses for the entire 66 hours. With the support of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this step was considered a symbol of sensitivity towards the women and sisters of the state.

66 Hours of Free Bus Service

The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) provided free bus service for the entire 66 hours during Raksha Bandhan under special arrangements. During this time, the convenience and safety of passengers were given top priority.

Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that all the officers and employees of the corporation played an important role in the successful operation of this scheme. He said that due to the hard work of the officers and employees, this scheme has been established as a public welfare initiative.
