Uttar Pradesh Likely to Receive Monsoon from June 28, Good Rainfall Forecast From June 29

The Instern Uttar Pradesh from June 28, with good rainfall expected in several districts from June 29. A yellow heatwave alert remains in effect for 31 districts, while temperatures above 42 degrees Celsius continue in parts of the state.

The India Meteorological Department has indicated that the southwest monsoon may enter eastern Uttar Pradesh from June 28, offering relief to residents awaiting the seasonal rains. However, heatwave conditions, high temperatures and humidity are expected to persist across several parts of the state over the next three days.

According to the weather department, pre-monsoon activity has not produced the expected impact so far, resulting in continued intense heat and humidity in most districts. Once the monsoon becomes active, a spell of rainfall is expected to begin and temperatures may decline.

The department has stated that people are likely to continue facing heatwave conditions until the monsoon arrives. The monsoon is expected to enter eastern Uttar Pradesh after advancing through West Bengal, Odisha and Bihar, bringing rainfall to several parts of the state.

As per the forecast, Sonbhadra, Ballia, Gorakhpur and nearby areas are likely to receive the first monsoon showers. Experts believe that after entering the state, the monsoon may advance rapidly, increasing rainfall activity across many parts of eastern and central Uttar Pradesh.

The weather department has also projected good rainfall in several districts from June 29.

Ahead of the monsoon’s arrival, the department has issued a yellow alert for heatwave conditions in 31 districts. Residents of Prayagraj, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi and Bhadohi, among others, have been advised to take precautions during daytime hours.

Some parts of western Uttar Pradesh recorded b winds and light rainfall in recent days, but the conditions did not provide substantial relief from the heat. Instead, rising humidity has added to discomfort in several areas.

Temperatures remain above 42 degrees Celsius in many districts. Banda recorded the highest maximum temperature at 43.8 degrees Celsius. Prayagraj recorded 42.8 degrees Celsius, Fatehpur 42.6 degrees Celsius, Varanasi 42.5 degrees Celsius and Hamirpur 42.2 degrees Celsius.

The weather department expects temperatures to decline after the monsoon becomes active, bringing relief from extreme heat and humidity and increasing the likelihood of sustained rainfall across the state.
