New Delhi: A tragic hit-and-run accident occurred in Vasant Kunj, Delhi. A speeding THAR SUV violently hit a 13-year-old child from behind. The accident took place on the afternoon of October 15, when the child was cycling near his home. The impact was so severe that the child died on the spot.
Following the incident, the accused driver fled the scene. The police have registered a case under Section 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) and have initiated a search for the accused.
Child Dies Due to Speeding Car
According to information, the THAR SUV driver was speeding on the right edge of the road. During this, the car lost control, and the child came under it. Locals immediately informed the police and PCR. A PCR van transported the child to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The accident caused chaos and commotion in the area. The police have immediately launched an investigation and are collecting CCTV footage and statements from witnesses.
Identification of the Deceased Child
The deceased child was a resident of Sector-6, R.K. Puram, and studied in 8th grade at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Vasant Kunj. At the time of the accident, his father was at work in Mahipalpur, while his mother was at home.
Upon receiving news of the incident, deep sorrow and distress engulfed the family. Relatives and neighbors are stunned by the child's sudden death. The deceased child's mother is reportedly inconsolable with grief.
Police Initiated Investigation
Vasant Kunj Police Station conducted forensic investigations and recorded witness statements at the scene. The search for the accused THAR driver has been intensified. Police state that the accident occurred due to the vehicle's high speed and negligence.
Furthermore, the station administration stated that the violation of road safety rules and causing death by negligence is a serious matter, and all efforts are underway to apprehend the accused soon.
