Career Across Film, Television and Theatre

Over a career spanning more than four decades, Noonan worked across film, television and theatre, establishing a distinct presence in all three mediums. From the 1980s through the 2010s, he appeared in more than 50 films, portraying a range of roles from antagonists to complex character parts. He remained professionally active from 1980 to 2018.

Recognition for Film Roles

Noonan gained wide recognition for his role as the villain in the 1993 action film Last Action Hero. In the 1990 science-fiction film RoboCop 2, he portrayed the character RoboCain, a role that also drew attention among audiences.

He began his film career in 1980 with Willie & Phil. He subsequently appeared in films including Manhunter, Heat, Mystery Train and The Alphabet Killer.

Work in Theatre and Filmmaking

In addition to his film work, Noonan contributed to theatre, including the Off-Broadway production What Happened Was.... In that project, he acted and also directed, marking a key milestone in his career and demonstrating his work as a filmmaker.

She stated that working with Noonan was a turning point in her career and that his influence remained visible in her life and work as an actor.
