Patna: A fierce confrontation took place between BJP and Congress workers in the Sadakat Ashram area of the capital, Patna, on Friday (August 29, 2025). The clash was so violent that workers from both sides resorted to using sticks, bricks, and stones. The incident occurred in front of the Congress office when BJP workers arrived to protest against the Congress.
BJP workers were incensed by alleged objectionable remarks made about PM Modi and staged a demonstration outside the Congress office. The protesters carried placards with slogans such as "Insult to Mother, Congress's Identity" and "Bihar will not tolerate insult to Mother."
Clash between BJP and Congress Workers
During the protest, BJP workers attempted to forcibly enter the Congress office. Congress workers opposed this, which led to a fight and stone-pelting at the scene. Several workers from both sides sustained injuries in the melee.
Police arrived at the scene and intervened, but establishing control proved challenging due to the violent atmosphere during the clash. Some injured workers were sent to Kurji Hospital for treatment.
BJP Protested Against PM's Insult
The BJP workers' protest was organized earlier that day, from Kurji Hospital to Sadakat Ashram. Senior BJP leaders Sanjay Saraogi and Nitin Naveen also participated. The primary reason for the protest was cited as the alleged use of derogatory remarks against PM Modi from a Congress platform.
Both Congress and BJP have accused each other of assault and stone-pelting. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the Law and Order DSP also reached the spot and made efforts to control the situation.
Police Action Brought Situation Under Control
Police have increased surveillance at the scene. The DSP and the local police team attempted to pacify both sides. The administration has appealed to the public not to gather at the location and to contact the police in any sensitive situation.
Further investigation will determine which workers were involved in the clash and against whom legal action will be taken.
