Virat Kohli 203 Runs Away From 15,000 ODI Runs Ahead of India vs England ODI Series

Virat Kohli is 203 runs short of completing 15,000 ODI runs ahead of India's three-match ODI series against England. The batter can also become the fastest player to reach the milestone if he achieves it during the series.

India and England will begin their three-match ODI series on Tuesday. The series also marks the return of Virat Kohli to India's ODI squad after a long interval.

The focus of the series will also be on Kohli's pursuit of several personal milestones. He is 203 runs away from completing 15,000 runs in ODI cricket. If he reaches the mark during the three-match series against England, he will become only the second batter in the world to score 15,000 or more ODI runs.

Virat Kohli has played 311 ODIs for India and scored 14,797 runs in 299 innings at an average of nearly 58.7. He requires 203 more runs to reach the 15,000-run milestone.

If he achieves the feat during the series against England, he will become only the second batter after Sachin Tendulkar to score 15,000 or more runs in ODI cricket.

Kohli also has the opportunity to become the fastest batter to reach 15,000 ODI runs.

Sachin Tendulkar reached the milestone in 359 innings, while Kohli has played 299 ODI innings so far. If he scores the required 203 runs during the current series, he can complete 15,000 ODI runs within 302 innings, provided he bats in all three matches, and become the batter to reach the landmark in the fewest innings.

Virat Kohli has scored approximately 1,397 runs in 38 ODI matches against England. During this period, he has registered three centuries and 10 half-centuries against the opposition.

In ODIs played in England, Kohli has scored 1,349 runs in 33 innings. He has maintained an average of more than 50 in those innings, with one century and 12 half-centuries.
