In the second T20 encounter played in Chattogram, West Indies defeated Bangladesh by 14 runs, securing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Chasing a target of 150 runs set by the West Indies, the Bangladesh team had a poor start. 

Opening batsman Saif Hassan returned to the pavilion after scoring just 5 runs. However, the other opener, Tanzid Hasan, played a magnificent innings of 61 runs off 48 balls and tried to steady the team. Despite his efforts, he received little support from the other end. Captain Litton Das contributed 23 runs, Towhid Hridoy 13 runs, and Jaker Ali 17 runs.

West Indies Lay Strong Foundation

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, West Indies had a somewhat slow start, but Alick Athanaze and captain Shai Hope played excellent innings, guiding the team to a b total. Athanaze played a blistering knock of 52 runs off 33 balls, which included 5 fours and 3 sixes. Meanwhile, captain Shai Hope scored 55 runs off 36 balls, hitting 3 sixes and 3 fours. A crucial 105-run partnership between the two stabilized West Indies' innings.

However, Bangladesh's bowlers made a comeback in the middle overs, restricting the West Indies team to 149 runs for 9 wickets. For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman took 3 wickets, while Nasum Ahmed and Rishad Hossain bagged 2 wickets each. Taskin Ahmed also claimed 1 wicket.

Bangladesh's Innings: Close to Victory, Yet Defeated

Chasing the target of 150 runs, Bangladesh had a poor start. Opener Saif Hassan was dismissed for just 5 runs, but Tanzid Hasan took charge at the other end. He played a brilliant innings of 61 runs off 48 balls, which included 6 fours and 1 six. However, Tanzid did not receive much support from the other end. Captain Litton Das returned to the pavilion after scoring 23 runs, Towhid Hridoy was out for 13, and Jaker Ali for 17 runs.

At one point, Bangladesh needed 65 runs from 8 overs with 7 wickets in hand, but West Indies' bowlers made a spectacular comeback from there. Under pressure, the Bangladeshi batsmen faltered, and the entire team could only manage 135 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs.

West Indies Bowlers' Magnificent Comeback

West Indies' fast bowlers stifled the Bangladeshi batsmen in the final overs with accurate yorkers and slower balls. Romario Shepherd delivered a lethal spell, taking 3 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs. Akeal Hosein wreaked havoc with his spin, claiming 3 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs, while the experienced Jason Holder picked up 2 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs.

These three bowlers collectively took 6 wickets for just 50 runs in the last 8 overs, completely turning the tide of the match. Romario Shepherd, for his all-round performance, was chosen as the Player of the Match. He took 3 wickets with the ball and contributed a quickfire 13 runs with the bat.
