The 22-year-old left-handed batsman performed brilliantly in domestic cricket and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2025). He scored a total of 229 runs in the CPL this year, drawing the attention of selectors with his aggressive batting.

Akeem has played three T20 International matches for West Indies so far, scoring 73 runs. The team management hopes that he will now showcase his talent in the ODI format as well.
