Following the incident, enraged villagers blocked the highway for hours, causing significant inconvenience to people. Police have launched raids to arrest the accused in the case.
Violent Clash Ignited by Land Dispute
It is reported that Kailashi Devi and her family members had gone to their field in the morning. The family stated that her husband, Gopal, had a long-standing dispute with Pappuram over the land boundary. On Wednesday night, Pappuram's family allegedly uprooted the boundary pillars and fence, which escalated tensions.
On Thursday morning, as Gopal and his family attempted to re-establish the boundary on their field, the dispute erupted into a violent clash. During this, members of Pappuram's family and Gopal's family confronted each other.
Woman Dies from Gunshot
During the clash, a person named Rajendra allegedly fired a shot, which directly hit Kailashi Devi. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot. This incident caused immense chaos in the village. In the incident, Bidam Devi, the deceased's sister-in-law, sustained severe head injuries and was referred to Dausa District Hospital.
The incident shook the family and the villagers. The villagers informed the police about the incident and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused. The villagers' anger was so intense that they blocked the road.
Villagers' Protest and Traffic Disruption
Enraged villagers protested by placing Kailashi Devi's body outside the police station. They blocked the highway, leading to traffic disruption for hours and vehicles getting stranded. The villagers demanded the arrest of the accused as well as security measures from the police.
Local residents stated that if timely action had been taken, this incident could have been prevented. The protest put pressure on the administration and police to arrest the accused and their family as soon as possible.
Police Action
Police reported that nine other individuals, including Gopal, were injured in the clash. All have been admitted to Baswa Hospital for treatment. Following the incident, the accused and their family members are absconding. Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the entire matter, and raids have been intensified to arrest the accused.
Police officials stated that during the investigation, statements from witnesses and evidence from the crime scene are being collected. Furthermore, villagers and the family have been assured that the accused will be apprehended soon and punished under due judicial process.
