Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will perform the groundbreaking ceremony for a residential project comprising 602 flats on land in Prayagraj that was freed from the illegal occupation of mafia figure Atiq Ahmed. During his visit, he will also attend a BJP graduate voters' conference and unveil a statue of freedom fighter Masuriyadin Pasi.

Yogi Adityanath will perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of Padmlok Apartment in the Kasari-Masari area of Prayagraj. The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) plans to construct 602 flats in the first phase, with the objective of providing housing to people in the lower- and middle-income groups.

According to available information, Atiq Ahmed had illegally occupied more than approximately 15 bighas of land in the area. After the land was freed from his occupation, the PDA planned to develop a residential project on the site. Construction in the first phase will cover an area of more than 14,000 square metres.

The project is also planned to be expanded in a second phase. Under Padmlok Apartment Phase II, more than 800 flats are proposed to be constructed. The prices of these flats are expected to be set between Rs 28 lakh and Rs 30 lakh.

During his Prayagraj visit, Yogi Adityanath will attend a BJP graduate voters' conference organised in support of Ashok Rathore, the party's candidate from the Allahabad-Jhansi Graduate Constituency.

Ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the BJP is seeking to strengthen its support among graduate voters. The conference is part of the party's efforts to connect with voters and mobilise support for the upcoming elections.

Minister in charge Swatantra Dev Singh, district in-charge Rakesh Trivedi and MLC Anoop Gupta, along with other party functionaries, were involved in preparations for the event.

The administration and police also made arrangements for the programme. Police officials inspected security arrangements and conducted a rehearsal of the Chief Minister's convoy. Police Commissioner Piyush Mordia held a meeting with the officials and personnel concerned and issued the necessary instructions.

District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma and other officials also inspected the event venue.

During his visit, Yogi Adityanath will also unveil a statue of freedom fighter Masuriyadin Pasi near Teliyarganj in Prayagraj.

Masuriyadin Pasi was born on October 2, 1911, in Jodhwal, Teliyarganj. He participated in the freedom movement at a young age and raised his voice against the Criminal Tribes Act enforced under British rule.

Even after independence, the law continued to cause difficulties for poor and marginalised communities. A statue has been installed in recognition of Pasi's contribution to the freedom movement and public life.

Pasi was a member of the Constituent Assembly and was elected to Parliament four consecutive times
