Bismah Maroof has become the second female cricketer to be awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. Previously, this prestigious award was received by former Pakistani cricketer and captain, Sana Mir. The 31-year-old Maroof dedicated the award to her father.
The Pakistani government announced on August 14th, Independence Day, that Babar Azam would be awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz. He joins a number of former cricketers who have received this prestigious award.
Following the conferment of an honor, Babar Azam posted on social media. He shared a picture of himself with the medal and wrote, "Receiving the Sitara-e-Imtiaz in the presence of my mother and father is a great honor for me."
Babar Azam has become the youngest recipient of Pakistan's third-highest civilian award, the Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
