When asked if she questioned or protested the makers' decision, she frankly replied, "No, because I knew that there's no point in fighting when someone else has already been cast. Ultimately, it's a choice, and I can't question someone's preference."

Nusrat also responded to Ananya Panday's casting. Without directly naming her, she clarified that replacing her was a cinematic decision she had to accept. Actor Ayushmann Khurrana had already clarified that Dream Girl 2 had a new story requiring a new lead, a role Ananya fit.
