Before becoming the CEC, Gyanesh Kumar served in several key positions in the central and state governments. He held various positions in the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, and Ministry of Cooperation.
He has held responsibilities ranging from Joint Secretary to Secretary level. In the Kerala government, he served in various key departments, from Assistant Collector to Secretary. He possesses expertise in administrative tasks and extensive experience in the smooth conduct of electoral processes.
