India's Military Capabilities: All of Pakistan Within Range, Says General

Lieutenant General Sumer Ivan D Cunha stated that the entirety of Pakistan falls within India's range. Operation Sindur showcased India's military strength and precision.

New Delhi: Lieutenant General Sumer Ivan D Cunha, Air Defence Commander of the Indian Army, made a significant statement regarding India's military capabilities during an interview with ANI on Monday. He asserted that all of Pakistan is within the range of India's missiles and weaponry, regardless of where Pakistan chooses to relocate its military headquarters.

He stated, "Even if Pakistan moves its General Headquarters (GHQ) from Rawalpindi to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or any other remote area, they are not beyond India's reach. They would have to hide much deeper to protect themselves."

Operation Sindur Demonstrates Strength, Reinforces Confidence in India's Military Preparedness

General D Cunha, referring to Operation Sindur, described it as a decisive moment for India, where the Indian armed forces conducted precise strikes on key Pakistani airbases and military installations. This operation utilized advanced technology, including loitering munitions, long-range drones, and guided weapons.

He stated that the Indian armed forces are now self-reliant not only in defense but also in offensive capabilities. This operation symbolizes India's shift from a reactive defense to a proactive security policy.

Safety of Civilians and Military Families Paramount

Lieutenant General D Cunha emphasized that India's primary responsibility is to protect the nation's sovereignty and its citizens. A crucial aspect of Operation Sindur was the Indian army's assurance that no harm came to any civilian or military family.

He said, "Our cantonments house not only soldiers but also their families. We ensured that they suffered no harm in any emergency situation like a drone attack. This operation has filled the entire nation with pride."

Action Based on the 'Shishupal Principle'

D Cunha linked India's patience and retaliatory action to the 'Shishupal Principle'. He explained that this principle is based on exercising restraint until repeated provocations cross a threshold. However, once that limit is crossed, the response is equally decisive.

"We demonstrated that India does not merely tolerate but is capable of decisive action when necessary. This operation is proof of that," he stated.

Modern Technology and Coordinated Military Structure Form the Foundation of Strength

Lieutenant General D Cunha highlighted that Operation Sindur showcased India's integrated military structure—where the Army, Air Force, and Navy work together on a unified strategy—making the operation possible.

He added that such strategic preparedness and coordination provide India with strength in the new face of modern warfare.
