Bihar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar jointly addressed a significant event at Lohna Uttar Gram Panchayat in Jhanjharpur, Madhubani district, on Thursday, April 24th, on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Diwas. This event not only infused new energy into Bihar's development journey but also delivered a b message of national unity and against terrorism.

There was considerable enthusiasm in Lohna Uttar even before the Prime Minister's arrival. Adorned with traditional folk songs and colorful welcome gates, the village took on a festive atmosphere. Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with representatives of the Gram Panchayat and reiterated the central government's commitment to strengthening the spirit of Panchayati Raj.

A Message of Unity Against Terrorism

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar began his speech by condemning the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. He stated, "This is a very tragic incident. Many innocent people lost their lives. We stand with the bereaved families, and the entire nation must remain united against terrorism at this time." He commended Prime Minister Modi's stance on this issue and said that his leadership is decisive and inspiring for the nation's security.

Nitish's Sharp Attack on RJD

In his address, Nitish Kumar sharply criticized the opposition, particularly the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He said, "Before 2005, the condition of Bihar's panchayats was very poor. No work was done, there was no participation of women, no development. When the NDA government was formed, amendments were made to the laws in 2006 to empower panchayats and in 2007 to empower municipalities. Women were given 50 percent reservation. Did the RJD ever do anything for women or the common people?"

A Picture of Panchayati Development

Nitish Kumar stated that the state government has so far constructed 1,639 Panchayat government buildings, and work on the remaining buildings is also progressing rapidly. He assured that all Panchayat buildings would be ready before the upcoming assembly elections. He also said, "We have worked in every sector, be it education, health, roads, electricity, or water. The purpose of Panchayati Raj is to make the village government, the government of the people of the village. This is the true foundation of democracy."

Bihar Receives a New Dimension Under PM Modi's Leadership

The Chief Minister appreciated the work done by the central government for Bihar under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Mentioning the establishment of the Makhana Board, the expansion of Patna IIT, and the establishment of new medical colleges, he said that if the central and state governments work together, Bihar can be taken to new heights.

He informed that during the recent 'Pragati Yatra,' the state government visited 38 districts to review development works. 430 new schemes were approved, and work on them has now started rapidly.

PM Modi's Message to Panchayat Representatives

Addressing the Gram Panchayat representatives, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "The village government is the real government. When the panchayats are b, only then will the country be b." He spoke of the crucial role of panchayats in initiatives like Digital India, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and Swachh Bharat and urged the village heads to play an active role in ensuring that every villager benefits from the schemes.

This event once again proved that when the central and state governments work together, its impact is visible at the grassroots level. The joint presence of PM Modi and Nitish Kumar not only gave a new direction to Bihar's political equations but also reassured the state's general public that the government is fully committed to their development and security.
