Prashant Kishor advised Chirag Paswan to resign and called his promise to end prohibition, implemented in 2016 during his own tenure as Deputy CM, ridiculous.
Bihar Politics: Prashant Kishor (PK), leader of the Jan Suraj Party, has entered Bihar's political arena, advising Union Minister Chirag Paswan to resign. PK stated that Paswan's promise to end prohibition is absurd, as the law was enacted in 2016 while he served as Deputy Chief Minister.
PK also leveled serious allegations of corruption in Bihar, claiming that people did not benefit from the assistance provided after the caste census. He further alleged that significant sums were being illegally extorted from small farmers in the name of land surveys.
PK's Journey to Begin on May 11
Prashant Kishor announced that he will begin his journey from Kalyanbigha, the ancestral village of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. This journey will focus on the issues of unemployment and education. PK promised the public that upon his party coming to power, senior citizens above 60 years of age will receive a pension of ₹2000.
He also shared several ambitious promises made by his party, such as ensuring children will not have to return to their villages for low-paying jobs (₹10,000-₹15,000) in Gujarat or other cities.
PK Ready for the Movement
Prashant Kishor pledged to the public that he would prevent the return of Lalu Prasad's "Jungle Raj" alongside the departure of Nitish Kumar in the upcoming elections. He distanced himself from traditional political leadership, stating, "I am only a representative of the people."
PK made a concerted effort to connect with the people, descending from the stage, flag in hand, amidst slogans, to begin his journey. He led the crowd in chants of "Jai Bihar, Jai-Jai Bihar."
