IAS Prathmesh Kumar: A significant change has occurred in the CEO position at Invest UP following the suspension of senior IAS officer Abhishek Prakash. Prakash was removed from his post due to serious corruption allegations. The Uttar Pradesh government subsequently appointed Prathmesh Kumar, a 2016 batch IAS officer, as the new CEO of Invest UP. He was previously serving as the Vice Chairman (VC) of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and Additional CEO (ACE) of Invest UP. He has now been given additional charge of Invest UP.
Why was Abhishek Prakash removed?
IAS Abhishek Prakash is accused of demanding a 5% commission from SAEL Solar P6 Private Limited, a company planning to set up a solar energy equipment manufacturing plant with an investment of ₹7,000 crore. Allegations suggest he demanded a bribe of ₹350 crore from the company. Following a complaint, the government conducted an investigation and, upon finding evidence, suspended him with immediate effect. A departmental inquiry and a vigilance investigation have been initiated against him.

IAS Prathmesh Kumar is a 2016 batch officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He was born on August 4, 1992, in Chandigarh. After completing his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, he began preparing for the Civil Services Examination and, through hard work, successfully became an IAS officer.
Prathmesh Kumar's Administrative Journey
After completing his training, IAS Prathmesh Kumar began his administrative service in 2017 as an Assistant Magistrate in Agra. He then became a Joint Magistrate in Gorakhpur in 2018.
2020: Appointed Chief Development Officer (CDO) in Ayodhya.
2021: Appointed Special Secretary in the Chief Minister's Office, Uttar Pradesh.
2022: Appointed Additional CEO in Invest UP.
2024: Appointed Vice Chairman of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and will now also assume the role of CEO of Invest UP.
