Uttar Pradesh School Curriculum to Feature 'Cow' Instead of 'Pot'

UP News: Dharampal Singh, the Animal Husbandry Minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, announced a significant change to the state's school curriculum. During a meeting of the Animal Husbandry Department at the Maha Kumbh, it was decided that the letter 'G' would now represent 'Gay' (Cow) instead of 'Gamla' (Pot), and similarly, 'C' would represent 'Cow' in English.

Implementation of the New Curriculum

Minister Dharampal Singh stated that this proposal has been discussed in a high-level meeting and efforts are underway to incorporate it into the curriculum. He explained that this change would be a significant step towards promoting animal husbandry and Indian culture in the state. The government is planning to implement this in coordination with the Education Department.

Radium Belts for Cows

The meeting at the Maha Kumbh also addressed cow safety. Minister Singh announced that cows residing along highways and roads will be fitted with radium belts to reduce road accidents and ensure their safety.

Cow Breed Improvement and Free Medication

Minister Dharampal Singh further stated that the state government will implement a breed improvement program to enhance the quality of cows in Uttar Pradesh. This program will include providing free medication for the cows' healthcare. Additionally, plans are underway to improve the state's milk policy and boost milk production.

Doubling Farmers' Income

To increase farmers' income, the government is running the 'Nandini Krishak Samridhi Yojana' scheme. Under this scheme, farmers will receive subsidies for raising four, ten, twenty-five, and fifty cows.

- A subsidy of ₹32 lakh will be provided for a ₹64 lakh scheme for 50 cows.

- A subsidy of ₹16 lakh will be provided for a ₹32 lakh scheme for 25 cows.

- A 50% subsidy will be provided for a ₹22 lakh scheme for 5 cows.

- A subsidy of ₹40,000 per cow will be provided for the purchase of 2 cows.

The minister emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is focused on doubling farmers' income, and animal husbandry can play a crucial role in achieving this goal.

Major Decisions on Cow Protection

Several significant decisions regarding cow protection were also taken at the meeting held at the Triveni Sangam during the Maha Kumbh. Minister Dharampal Singh stated that the only university in the state conducting research on animal protection and health will be instructed in this regard. Furthermore, a well-planned scheme will be prepared in collaboration with the Education Department, with final approval from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
