• 52 positions are reserved for the OBC (Other Backward Classes).

• 18 positions are allocated for candidates from the EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) category.
 
IPS – How many positions in the Indian Police Service?
 
The UPSC has announced a total of 150 positions for the Indian Police Service (IPS) this year. These 150 positions are distributed among different categories as follows:
 
• 60 positions are allocated for the General (Unreserved) category.
 
• 42 positions are reserved for candidates from the OBC (Other Backward Classes) category.
 
• 23 positions are allocated to the SC (Scheduled Castes) category.
 
• 10 positions are reserved for the ST (Scheduled Tribes) category.
 
• 15 positions are available for the EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) category.
 
IFS – How many positions in the Indian Foreign Service?
 
The UPSC has announced a total of 55 positions for the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) this year. This service is considered extremely important for representing India abroad and strengthening the country's foreign policy. These 55 positions are distributed among various categories as follows:
 
• 23 positions are allocated for the General (Unreserved) category.
 
• 13 positions are reserved for candidates from the OBC (Other Backward Classes) category.

• 5 positions are reserved for the ST (Scheduled Tribes) category.

• 20 positions are allocated for the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (Group A). In this service, candidates are responsible for accounting and audit-related tasks in government departments.
