Silver Prices Surge in India, Reaching ₹99,705 per kg

Silver prices surged by ₹219 to ₹99,705 per kg in the futures market on March 28, 2025. Silver for May delivery on the MCX is trading with a 0.22% increase.

Gold-Silver Price: Gold and silver prices in India continue to fluctuate. On Thursday, the price of 24-carat gold increased from ₹87,791 to ₹88,427 per 10 grams. Silver prices also rose, from ₹98,794 per kg to ₹99,775 per kg. However, new rates for Friday will be released at 12 pm, with updates to follow shortly.

Surge in Silver Prices in the Futures Market

The silver futures market on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) witnessed a surge. The May delivery contract was trading at ₹99,705 per kg, up 0.22%. Silver prices increased by ₹219 on Thursday, reaching ₹99,705 per kg. A total of 19,677 lots were traded during this period.

According to analysts, the surge in silver prices is attributed to increased investor participation and rising international demand. In the New York market, silver prices also increased by 0.20%, reaching $34.29 per ounce.

Gold Futures Market Also Sees Rise

Gold prices also saw an upswing due to increased spot demand. On Thursday, gold in the futures market rose by ₹483, reaching ₹88,121 per 10 grams. This increase was driven by new purchases made by investors. Globally, gold futures prices in New York rose by 0.73%, reaching $3,074.70 per ounce.

Slight variations in gold and silver prices are observed across different cities. The rates for 22-carat and 24-carat gold vary depending on the city. A slight increase in gold prices has been observed in Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Patna, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Noida, Ayodhya, Gurugram, and Chandigarh.
