While traveling to heaven, when, who, and due to what sin among the five Pandavas fell down, know the wonderful secret

After the Mahabharata war, following the advice of Maharshi Ved Vyas, the Pandavas, including Draupadi, decided to renounce their kingdom and journey to heaven in their physical forms. Yudhishthira performed Parikshit's coronation. Afterwards, the Pandavas and Draupadi adorned themselves in the attire of ascetics and set out for heaven. A dog accompanied the Pandavas. Inspired by a desire to circumnavigate the earth, the Pandavas began their journey towards the north. During their journey, they reached the Himalayas. After crossing the Himalayas, they encountered a sea of sand. Subsequently, they saw Mount Meru.

Draupadi died first

As the five Pandavas, Draupadi, and the dog were ascending Mount Meru, Draupadi stumbled and fell. Seeing Draupadi fall, Bhima questioned Yudhishthira, asking why she fell, as she had never done anything wrong. Yudhishthira replied that Draupadi loved Arjuna most among them, and this was the reason for the incident. Saying this, Yudhishthira moved forward without looking back at Draupadi.

Sahadev fell again

Shortly after Draupadi's fall, Sahadev also stumbled and fell. Bhima inquired about the reason for Sahadev's downfall, to which Yudhishthira explained that Sahadev's fall was due to his failure to consider anyone as wise as himself. This flaw led to his downfall.

Nakula fell after this

Continuing their journey, Nakula also stumbled and fell behind Draupadi and Sahadev. When Bhima asked Yudhishthira the reason, Yudhishthira explained that Nakula was excessively proud of his beauty and considered no one as handsome as himself. Therefore, he had to face this consequence.

Arjun also fell after a while.

As Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, and the dog continued their journey, Arjuna fell after a while. Yudhishthira explained to Bhima that Arjuna was very proud of his prowess. He had boasted that he could eliminate enemies in a single day, but it didn't happen. It was because of his arrogance that Arjuna found himself in this situation. Having explained this, Yudhishthira moved on.

That's why Bhima died

As they moved a little further, Bhima also stumbled and fell. Then Bhima called out to Yudhishthira, asking, "O King, if you know, please tell me the reason for my fall?" Yudhishthira replied, "You were overeating and falsely displaying your strength. That is why you had to fall to the ground today." Saying this, Yudhishthira moved on. Only the dog remained with him.

Yudhishthira went to heaven in body

As Yudhishthira moved a little further, Lord Indra himself arrived with his chariot to take him to heaven. Yudhishthira then requested Indra to make arrangements to take his brothers and Draupadi, who had fallen along the way, with him. Indra replied that they had already shed their bodies and reached heaven, but Yudhishthira would ascend to heaven in his physical form.

Yamraj was in the form of a dog

Hearing Indra's words, Yudhishthira said that the dog was his devoted follower. Therefore, he sought permission to take the dog to heaven with him. However, Indra refused this request. Despite Yudhishthira's persistent pleading and his refusal to go to heaven without the dog, Yamraj revealed himself in his true form, disguised as the dog (as the dog was actually Yamraj). Seeing Yudhishthira's devotion to dharma, Yamraj was very pleased. Afterward, Indra, the King of Gods, took Yudhishthira to heaven in his chariot, in his physical body.
