Once, he made a special resolve for Ravi Pradosh Vrat and performed the fast with complete ritualistic precision. Pleased by his devotion, Lord Shiva appeared to him in a dream and assured him of impending prosperity. Soon, he secured good employment, and his financial condition improved.
Another story recounts the churning of the ocean during the war between gods and demons, resulting in the emergence of Halahala poison. When no one could handle it, Lord Shiva consumed the poison. This turned his throat blue, earning him the name 'Neelkanth.' This event occurred on Trayodashi Tithi during Pradosh Kaal.
