Recent reports indicate that the accused demanded ₹1000 from his former employer before the attack. Amit Pandey, the agency supervisor, stated that the accused expressed a need for money over the phone and then received the funds via PhonePe using a call from his associate, Rohit Yadav's, mobile phone.

Bangladeshi National Concealed Identity Working at Housekeeping Agency

The investigation revealed that the accused concealed his true identity, working under the name 'Vijay Das' in Mumbai as a housekeeper. He had been employed through an agency called 'Sri Om Facility Services' since July 2024, working at various hotels. Despite not submitting required documents, he was given employment. His true identity only became suspected by his employer after his face appeared on television.

Worked at Various Locations, Suddenly Disappeared

Vijay, alias Mohammad Shariful, initially worked at a pub in Worli Koliwada for four months. He was then transferred to a hotel in Thane's Hiranandani Estate. After working there until December 2024, he took up jobs in Prabhadevi and then a hotel in Bandra West. However, he suddenly stopped coming to work after January 2025. His phone was switched off, and later, a call from an unknown number claimed he was at a police station.

Employer Suspects Identity After Seeing Photo on Television, Informs Police

On the night of January 18th, when news of the attack on Saif Ali Khan aired on television, showing a photo of the accused, the agency supervisor realized that the individual was the same 'Vijay Das' who had worked for them. He decided to inform the police the very next day. The investigation later revealed that the accused's real name is Mohammad Shariful Sajjad Rohul Amin Fakir, a Bangladeshi national illegally residing in India.

Suspect in Saif Ali Khan Attack Apprehended by Police

The police had already taken the accused into custody. The information emerging about his background and identity has raised concerns among security agencies. A Bangladeshi national working in Mumbai under a false identity and then attacking a celebrity raises serious questions about the security system.
