The television drama 'Jhanak' is set to surprise viewers with a double leap in just two months. Launched in November 2023, starring Hiba Nawab and Krishal Ahuja, the show recently underwent its first five-year leap.

Entertainment: The popular TV drama 'Jhanak' is once again in the headlines, but this time not for a plot twist, but for a significant change. The show's producers have confirmed a 20-year leap (a substantial time jump in the narrative) in June. This leap will lead to the replacement of the entire current star cast.

This means that the characters who have captured the audience's hearts will no longer be part of the story. This follows a recent five-year leap already implemented in the show.

Krishal Ahuja Bids Farewell to the Show

Krishal Ahuja, the show's lead actor playing 'Anirudh,' has confirmed that he will not be part of the show after the leap. Ahuja explained that he recently received an email from the team informing him of the 20-year leap and the conclusion of his character's journey at that point.

He stated, "I am immensely grateful for my journey with this show, but my role concludes with the leap. Therefore, I have decided to leave the show."

Shiny Doshi Rejects Lead Role

During the search for a new lead actress after the leap, the show's producers approached Shiny Doshi, known for her role in the hit series 'Pandya Store.' However, Doshi rejected the offer. She commented, "I don't want to work on a show where a new story begins after a leap. I want to take on something new and fresh, so I didn't accept the offer for 'Jhanak.'"

Kajal Pisal and the Rest of the Cast Also Exit

Kajal Pisal, playing a significant role in the show, has also confirmed that the entire current cast will be replaced after the June leap. She stated, "We have been informed about the 20-year leap in June and that we will all no longer be part of the show afterwards. However, the final shooting date is yet to be finalized."

Reasons Behind the Big Decision

'Jhanak' premiered in November 2023, enjoying good TRP ratings in its initial months. However, over time, a lack of freshness in the storyline was felt, leading to declining viewer interest. Furthermore, the IPL season further impacted the show's ratings. Reports suggest that the decision to introduce a 20-year leap was made to revitalize the show with a new story and fresh faces to recapture audience interest.

Following the leap, 'Jhanak's storyline will undergo a complete transformation. The new leads are yet to be confirmed, but casting is underway. The show is preparing for a fresh image with new faces. The makers are now fully committed to re-engaging the audience.
