This case involves a ₹70 lakh bribe in which R.C. Meena and Aman Grover were implicated. The court delivered this sentence considering the seriousness of the corruption involved.
Details of the Case:
The case originated on August 13, 2015, when the CBI filed a case against then-DSP R.C. Meena and a then-SI of the Chandigarh Police for accepting a bribe. The allegation was that they demanded ₹70 lakh to prevent the arrest of the complainant's parents in a case registered with the EOW department of the Chandigarh Police.

The accused had taken ₹40 lakh in cash and a post-dated check of ₹30 lakh from the complainant. After completing the investigation, the CBI filed a charge sheet in the special court on October 9, 2015. However, proceedings against the accused SI were terminated due to his death during the trial.
