The accident took place on Hapur Road, in front of the Ghaziabad DM office, when a speeding SUV veered off course and collided with a tree in the green belt. The impact was so severe that the vehicle was extensively damaged, and both occupants sustained critical injuries. They were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Accident at 1:30 AM; Speed the Culprit
ACP Kavinagar, Swatantr Kumar Singh, stated that the accident occurred around 1:30 AM. The Mahindra KUV SUV was traveling from the old bus stand towards Hapur toll plaza. The vehicle was traveling at such a high speed that the driver lost control, causing the car to directly collide with a tree in the green belt. Upon receiving the information, Kavinagar police station personnel arrived at the scene and immediately transported the critically injured young men to the hospital.
However, the doctors pronounced both dead upon arrival. According to police officials, the deceased have not yet been identified. No documents were found on the young men to assist in identification. The bodies have been sent to the post-mortem house, and nearby police stations have been notified.
Speeding a Deadly Factor; Police Examine CCTV Footage
Police are now reviewing CCTV footage from the area to determine the precise cause of the accident. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was caused by speeding and loss of vehicle control. Locals reported that vehicles frequently speed through this area late at night, and there are no speed control measures in place.
