Controversy deepens over the termination of contractual employees under HKRN in Haryana. Surjewala stated that 1.10 lakh young people will not receive job security until retirement. 1200 employees have already been dismissed.
Haryana News: Political heat has intensified regarding the termination of contractual employees working under the Haryana Skill Development and Employment Corporation (HSERC). Randeep Singh Surjewala, Congress National General Secretary and Member of Parliament, claimed that out of 1.20 lakh youth employed under HSERC, 1.10 lakh were recruited in 2020-21 or later. He stated that these employees have less than five years of service, making them vulnerable to dismissal by the government at any time.
Surjewala Levels Serious Allegations
Speaking to the media in Delhi on Saturday, Surjewala said that 1200 contractual employees have been terminated so far. He mentioned an order issued on March 25th, stating that retaining any employee beyond March 31st requires written approval from the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) and the Finance Department. Thousands of employees could be dismissed without this approval.
Reference to Chief Secretary's Order
Referring to an order issued by the Chief Secretary, Surjewala stated that only those employees recruited before August 15, 2019, will receive job security. Employees recruited after this date will be dismissed on a "first-come, first-served" basis. He also questioned the fairness of the recruitment process, alleging paper leaks and the appointment of external candidates.
