Preparing for Decisive Action Against Terrorism
Following the Pulwama attack, the central government is strategizing decisive action against terrorism. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has held several high-level meetings with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. These meetings have reportedly discussed military action against the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist group.
Mock Security Drill Conducted
On May 7th, the Indian government conducted a mock drill to ensure civilian safety, testing security plans across various states and union territories. A meeting convened by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan in this regard concluded successfully.
