This 77-meter-long, 10-meter-wide glass bridge links the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the 133-foot-tall Thiruvalluvar statue, situated on the Kanyakumari coast. The bridge was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on December 31, 2024.
The bridge, constructed at a cost of ₹37 crore, is expected to become a major tourist attraction. A key feature of the glass bridge is its ability to offer visitors a breathtaking view of the sea and waves as they walk across it.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin Inaugurates the Bridge
This glass bridge, the first of its kind in the country, is situated on the Kanyakumari beach. It provides visitors with an unparalleled view of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, the 133-foot-tall Thiruvalluvar statue, and the surrounding sea. The Tamil Nadu government built the glass bridge at a cost of ₹37 crore. The inauguration took place on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the unveiling of the Thiruvalluvar statue, originally unveiled by the late Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Following the inauguration, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, state ministers, MP Kanimozhi, and senior officials walked across the bridge, experiencing its unique charm. This has further solidified the bridge's position as a new tourist attraction in the state.
